Coconut Crumbed Prawns


  • 8 large peeled green king prawns
  • 1/4 cup plain flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup shredded coconut
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoon Reef Suntan Ale


  1. Using the palm of your hand, slightly flatten prawns.
  2. Place flour in a bowl. Add prawns. Toss to coat.
  3. Whisk egg and 2 tablespoons Reef Suntan Ale together in a shallow bowl. Combine coconut and breadcrumbs on a plate. Dip the prawns in egg mixture, then breadcrumb mixture to coat.
  4. Heat oil in a large frying pan. Cook prawns for 2 minutes each side or until golden and cooked through.
  5. In a mixing bowl, combine the mayonnaise, garlic, lime rind and lime juice. Mix thoroughly to make the aioli.
  6. Serve prawns with a side of aioli, lime and a glass of Reef Sun Tan Ale.
