Old Money Barrel Aged Imperial Stout 2017 (December, 2017) HEARTY - SMOOTH - COFFEE - BARREL-AGED

A well-bred brew that’s richer than your inheritance. This Royal Russian Stout is barrel-aged and lightly carbonated, offering a hearty and warming feel.

Old Money is rich and velvety, and leaning more towards the sweet side of the spectrum. Coffee, dark chocolate and toffee characters are wrapped up in a silky, smooth malt palate, with the added edge of Woodford Barrel bourbon notes.

This vintage was brewed to be big and bold. We took our 2015 World’s Best Stout recipe and threw it into Woodford Reserve barrels for 5 months. These barrels left a spicy vanilla flavour with notes of dried fruit, creating a lovely balance against the roasted coffee notes of the original recipe.

MALT: Medium Crystal, Carafa, Chocolate, Roasted

YEAST: American Ale 

IBU: 50 

ABV: 12.5%

Share this beer with friends over an entree of freshly shucked oysters with a wasabi mayo, before moving onto beef eye fillet with red wine reduction for the main. For the end of the night, bring out the cheeseboard and chocolate truffles.
